ACE-American Cinema Editors נוסד ב 1950 בארה״ב כגילדה של כבוד לעורכי תמונה בקולנוע ובטלויזיה הקבלה אליו מותנית בהזמנה של הארגון ובחינת המצוינות מקצועית של המועמד ע״י ועדת קבלה ובין חבריו סקיפ מקדונלד (ברייקינג באד), לי סמית (1917, התחלה, טרילוגיית האביר האפל), ג׳ואן סובל (יצורים ליליים, a single man) ועורכי עלילתי ודוקומנטרי רבים אחרים.
הארגון מקיים תחרות יוקרתית שנתית ומחלק את פרסי האדי לעורכים המצטיינים בתחום העלילתי והדוקומנטרי, פסטיבל EditFest השנתי (בסוף אוגוסט) המציג פאנלים מקצועיים ואמנותיים ומקדם את מקצוע העריכה והעוסקים בו.
מעתה איגוד העורכים יהיה האיגוד הישראלי היחיד שיוכל להמליץ ל ACE על עורכי סוגה עילית תושבי ישראל העומדים בקריטריונים כדי שיוזמנו ע״י ACE להצטרף לקהילה הבינלאומית האיכותית שפועלת לקידום היוקרה של מקצוע העריכה ותנאי העסקה נאותים.
בימים אלה עם הפעילות המתרחבת של גופי שידור בינלאומיים וגידול בעניין בתוכן ישראלי ויוצרים ישראלים איגוד העורכים שמח לאפשר לחבריו דרך נוספת לחשוף את כשרונותיהם ויכולותיהם המקצועיות לשוק הבינלאומי. היוצרים הטובים בישראל נמצאים באיגוד העורכים ועכשיו זה רשמי.

The ACE INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM is for experienced and well-established editors living and working outside of the U.S., who are members of an acknowledged editing organization in their own countries. International Partners must be members in good standing of their local editing organization.
The following benefits are included in this membership category:
- ACE International Partners become part of ACE’s expanding network of film editing professionals.
- They attend ACE social gatherings worldwide.
- Receive discounts on ACE events around the world (including US events).
- Receive a complimentary subscription to CinemaEditor Magazine.
- They are also invited to vote in the final round of the Feature Film categories of the Eddie Awards (Current categories include Drama, Comedy/Musical and Animation).
- Have their names listed in a special section of ACE’s Membership Roster following our Active Members. International Partners are considered the second most important membership category.
- Even though they may not use the ACE acronym behind their name, they may indicate their ACE International Partnership in their CV and biography.
- After a period, International Partners may be invited to upgrade to full Active membership if they meet the requirements expressed in our by-laws.
